Diffusing Essential Oils

January 19th, 2007 steve No comments

Diffusing essential oils is one of the best ways to enjoy the benefits of essential oils. Another article will provide more information on diffusers but for now the following comments are helpful to those who diffuse and are being challenged by diffuser performance:

“If you have had your diffuser for a year or more and have used it often, the diaphram in the pump that vibrates to push out the air might have gotten brittle and need to be replaced. If you want to test to see if your pump has lost its blowing power, take the air line off of the pump, leave it hooked to the diffuser, and blow really hard thru it and see if you can get the oil to diffuse into the air. If not, you have a clog. If so, you need the pump repair. The easiest thing is to take the pump, without the diffuser part, to your local pet store and see if they can order the new diaphram. They might be nice enough to replace it for you, but you can do it yourself just by looking at it and figuring it out. So of you do the needle in the tiny hole in the nozzle trick and it doesn’t help, take a look at your pump. A diaphram is alot cheaper than a new pump. Hope this helps”

“Thieves Cleaner cleans mine out, but before we had
Thieves Cleaner, I used vodka. It might be worth a
try. It could also be that the pump doesn’t produce
enough “umph” to push the spray out the top. Maybe
you could buy a new pump. The pet stores have some
you might be able to use. It’s what they use in fish
tanks.”

“I stuck the end of a toothpick in the tiny hole in the metal below the glass
piece and that apparently cleared it out as it’s been working ever since.”

Essential Oils: What Others Say

January 15th, 2007 steve No comments

The following is a selection of recent comments where people are sharing experiences being part of Young Living Essential Oils:

“Of course the oils are excellent, but it is the surprises that always get
me. I was giving a nutrition talk and I had wolfberries in one of my
recipes which I was sharing. I was sure I did not want to mix business at
this talk and when someone asked where I got the wolfberries, I froze. I
asked the administrator if I could mention a multilevel marketing company.
The answer was yes. So I mention Young Living. A woman called out, ” Oh I
want to talk to you after as I have been wanting to sign up for a long
time.” She signed up and brought in people immediately, even attended the
last conference!! You never know huh.”

“I recently had a client who ordered Ortho Sport for her husbands knee and was rubbing it in every evening. One day she noticed her thumb, which had been frozen for 20 years, was bending easily. She said the only thing different was the Ortho Sport. Just love it when it does that!!”

“Well, here is another “Instant Response” to the oils: I am a healing touch practitioner. As my client pay on the massage table, I assessed her chakra system using a pendulum so that she could see which chakras were compromised and which were open and active prior to treatment. Four of the seven were blocked.

I asked the pendulum which oils to use for her. The answer was Thieves. So I put a drop on each hand and she rubbed her hands together, inhaled the aroma and I pendled again. All of her energy centers were now open.

Proof positive of the power of the oils.”

“For years I had joined in many home parties for many different
products and so, when I became an oiler in fall of 1996, I decided to do an
oil party fashioned on the Tupperware parties which I had attended many times.
(I believe that I was the first oiler to do that.) So, a bunch of women met
at my neighbor’s home to sniffed and dabbed on the Essential 7 and as said,
I was really new to Young Living Essential Oils and almost no literature was available, but I had the tape and took my program from it with Tupperware techniques applied.

We had such a good time that we forgot to head home before her husband came
home. The first thing he said was that he had a splitting headache and hoped
we’d all be out of there fast. I offered him some peppermint oil and Panaway
(it’s name then) and before we had gathered all our things and were out the
door, he came back out from his bedroom and told us that “amazingly” his
headache was gone and what was the hurry to leave. Needless to say, my business
got a good boost with that party and the additional others booked from it.

Every time, one could offer an oil and experience people’s reaction when
they had almost instant results was so great and of course, still is. That’s
what I love more than anything is to see people’s reactions to the fast results.

Another great thing, I believe, is rather unique to this company is the
comradery among ALL the members, regardless of the legs we are in. I have so many
friends among you all who are not in my downline, and yet, I love you as
much as those in my downline simply because you are fun folks to be with.”

Essential Oils for Migraines

January 8th, 2007 steve No comments

A number of people report on an essential oil that works for them when they feel a migraine coming on. Carol summarizes it well:

“I have found with myself and friends that putting
M-grain on the temples and across the brain stem as soon as you feel one
sneekin’ up on you really takes care of it. Putting on the oil really fast when you
feel it coming is the trick to success.”

I use the M-Grain also on the sides or my neck, on my wrists, and put it
in/up my nose.

The other thing which I do immediately is to drink 2 glasses of water and
take a pinch of Celtic sea salt.

Essential Oil Lemon and Some of It’s Many Uses

January 8th, 2007 steve No comments

Didi writes:

We use the essential oil of lemon the following ways:

1. A drop of lemon oil per gallon in any well water we store to keep bacteria and algae
from developing (even though it goes through a top quality filter first).

2. In a spray bottle to wash vegetables.(Editor’s note: I use about 16 drops of the essential oil of lemon in a quart size spray bottle for vegitables and cleaning.)

3. In a spray bottle to clean house, spray the air, and wash windows.
(Thieves Cleaner is also GREAT for washing windows.) Also great for
cleaning inside of car and car windows. We take it on car trips with paper
towels.

3. 10 drops in a capsule along with 3 drops oregano oil if a cold or bug is
trying to us.

4. Lemon oil can be diffused. We were told a few years back that some
European hospitals diffuse lemon oil in the air to kill germs.

5. I use either lemon oil or organic fresh lemon juice in my first glasses
of water in the morning.

Elaine writes:

I use LEMON oil all the time. I wash my fruits and veggies with
it, I put at least 2 drops in each quart of water I drink, I put 2 or
3 drops in capsules with oregano and Frankincense to ward off any
hints of not feeling up to par, and I have a least 3 bottles on my
AutoShip each month for diffusing. IT’S A GREAT OIL and I wouldn’t be
without it. The other benefit is: it’s inexpensive by comparison!
Have a wonderful day!

Eseential Oils and Self Healing

January 6th, 2007 steve No comments

When you talk about aromatherapy and essential oils some people say its a lot of “hogwash” whilst others swear by it.
I was one of the non-believers but I have come to change my views as I have experienced it first hand. Maybe not all oils do what they say but some definitely do their job.

Essential oils as they are called come from nature and have been used for centuries by various cultures around the world. These days we are all turning back to nature in one form or another as our lives become too complicated and stressful.
It is the aromatic essences of the oils which enhances life, be it to soothe and heal the mind and body, to increase the sensuality and feelings of pleasure or to invigorate our consciousness.

The various fragrances come from herbs, flowers, fruits, spices and different types of woods. They are used individually or mixed together depending on what is the required end result. The fragrances can make your home feel and smell like a tropical forest or a far away exotic place.

Touch is a fantastic way of bringing couples closer in their relationship. It doesn’t matter how long or little you have been together as we all have a need to be touched and massage is the perfect way to accomplish this and more.
When the power of touch is combined with the sense of smell by way of essential oils it can create the ultimate feel good sensation. The scents of the essential oils can assist in relaxation whilst receiving a massage.

It is known that some oils are more beneficial and versatile than others as they can also benefit the skin. The most useful oil is sweet almond oil as it is also used as a carrier oil for other essential oils. Mixing the right oils can provide various beauty treatments, as when it comes to skin care nature has a healing, cleansing and replenishing force, which our artificial cosmetics cannot beat.

There are even potions for love but I will keep this for another time.

So as you can see Oils Ain’t Oils!
