We use the essential oil of lemon the following ways:

1. A drop of lemon oil per gallon in any well water we store to keep bacteria and algae
from developing (even though it goes through a top quality filter first).

2. In a spray bottle to wash vegetables.(Editor’s note: I use about 16 drops of the essential oil of lemon in a quart size spray bottle for vegitables and cleaning.)

3. In a spray bottle to clean house, spray the air, and wash windows.
(Thieves Cleaner is also GREAT for washing windows.) Also great for
cleaning inside of car and car windows. We take it on car trips with paper
towels.

3. 10 drops in a capsule along with 3 drops oregano oil if a cold or bug is
trying to us.

4. Lemon oil can be diffused. We were told a few years back that some
European hospitals diffuse lemon oil in the air to kill germs.

5. I use either lemon oil or organic fresh lemon juice in my first glasses
of water in the morning.

I use LEMON oil all the time. I wash my fruits and veggies with
it, I put at least 2 drops in each quart of water I drink, I put 2 or
3 drops in capsules with oregano and Frankincense to ward off any
hints of not feeling up to par, and I have a least 3 bottles on my
AutoShip each month for diffusing. IT’S A GREAT OIL and I wouldn’t be
without it. The other benefit is: it’s inexpensive by comparison!
Have a wonderful day!

Bronchitis or Pneumonia? Oilers Report On Essential Oils For Broncitis or Pneumonia

November 8th, 2006 steve 3 comments

I always use the essential oils of R.C. and Raven whenever there are any respiratory problems.

..we use Eucalyptus Globulus(specific for bronchial), Eucalyptus Radiata, Ravensara, Ginger, Goldenrod, Pine (digests mucus), Spruce (drives pine into lower lungs), RC, and Frankincense, which intensifies the oils …

…The Palo Santo is said to be 10 times stronger than Eucalyptus Globulus, and we are anxious to try that. Note: Use Peppermint last, as it seals in the oils….

A Fight With A Cold – Essential Oils Won

October 30th, 2006 steve No comments

This is exactly what happened to me a few days ago. Returning to Florida from a long week of traveling, I was particularly tired. Upon landing I started sneezing but didn’t think much of it. Into the evening I basically felt fine.

Saturday morning my nose was runny and I felt a bit congested. I started using the essential oils of peppermint and euchalyptus under my nose. I also took a OTC pill to help dry up the runny nose. (I know -boo, hiss for using that medication.)

Anyway, by mid afternoon I didn’t like what was developing. I took Thieves spray and sprayed parts of my face, neck and chest. Then (here is what is really cool) I took a nap and while laying in bed I focused very deep on two points: 1. I have no time to be feeling bad and I was saying no to this cold. 2. I have been studying how our thoughts can do wonderous things so I focused on not accepting any sickness and that when I woke up there would be no cold.

I woke up and there was no cold …. and that is the truth!

Essential Oils for Cold and Flu

October 17th, 2006 steve No comments

Preventing colds and flu can be helped by using essential oils and essential oil based products as they have many properties that assist in benefiting the immune system and more. Essential oils can help clear a cold or flu and at a minimum offer a natural relief from cold and flu symptons.

The following products are “must haves” to provide the maximum defense against cold and flu. Of course having them is useless unless you use them. So this means having one or more with you at all times. Which ones – well they are all great so develop your own personal favorites. Personally I carry RC, Peppermint, Eucalyptus and Lemon in my briefcase. After rereading the article below I will have Melaleuca with me wherever I go. Our bodies are complex so there are no guarantees you will not get hit with a cold or the flu. These oils will help you reduce the risk and, if caught , will help you recover.

Peppermint – great for stuffy nose – inhale, apply topically, diffuse
Eucalyptus – congestion – inhale, apply to chest area, diffuse. Aids in preventing colds
RC – terrific for congestion.
Thieves – use daily, apply to feet
ImmuPower – use daily apply to feet
Lemon – use in water, tea, apply topically, diffuse
Purification – see below. Also diffuse daily
Melaleuca – see below (do not be without this oil ever. Great defense for colds and sore throat and terrific for cuts, scrapes, insect bites

Detailed testimonials:

Colds

Purification

“You will meet many people in public that have been sick and coughing for months. In 4 years I have never failed to get great results with Purification, The key is application and my favorite method is a gargle. Put 1-2 drops in 1/2 oz of water (in a glass glass, not styrofoam) and gargle for 60 seconds (not 10 seconds like most people). There will be an immediate cessation of the cough [just 2 weeks ago I did this for an 81 year woman coughing for 8-9 months and no help from 3 different antibiotics; she got 24 hours of relief before I gave a 2d dose. Do this gargle 2-3 times/day for 2-3 days and I have yet to see the respiratory system not be "balanced" (eliminating the cough completely)."

Melaleuca

An exerpt from the book "Natural Home health Care using Essential Oils" by Daniel Penoel, M.D. "This issue deals with MELALEUCA Alternifolia: Your first defense against bacteria and infections.

The famous "tea tree oil" (TTO) is now known throughout the world. Its fame is well deserved. Personally, I [Dr. Penoel] have used it in daily medical treatments for 17 years. Consistent success with this oil has given me great respect for its healing and protecting properties.

The reader who discovers TTO for the first time while reading this book, and who, after opening a first bottle expects to experience a beautiful aroma, will probably be disappointed. The fact is, we are talking about the oldest fight in Nature, the fight against infectious disease. The intention of nature in giving us anti-infectious aromatic molecules is not to launch us to the seventh heaven of olfactory delight. There are other essential oils for that. the goal here is to help the body in its fight against a bacterial attack. Melaleuca is a fighting oil. It’s tour de force lies in its extraordinary antiseptic power and remarkable anti-infectious activity, while retaining an exceptional mildness. It is absolutely non-aggressive with regard to the mucous membranes.

At the very practical, family application level, all that is needed is a simple, first-step, “tea tree oil response.” It is one of the safest and most effective ways of controlling and eliminating minor infections. The classic example for using this oil occurs in cases of sore throat, pharyngitis, and other throat infections.

The secret to success in using TTO for combating sore throats is immediate action. The moment you feel that unpleasant tickle at the back of you throat, signaling that an inflammation is starting, you must be prepared to act. Therefore it is necessary to keep with you wherever you go a small bottle of essential oil. If you are at the office, the factory, or even school, you will not have time to leave and go get a bottle of TTO. You have to keep working and take care of yourself with discretion.

Let’s imagine the following scenario:

Mary, 23 years old, works in an office. She caught a cold when she went out this morning, and by 11:00am, she felt soreness in her throat and it was becoming painful to swallow. Mary knows very well from past experience how this type of problem evolves in her. Normally, she will spend several hours with a serious throat infection, which eventually turns into a fever and significant fatigue. She then visits her general physician who always prescribes antibiotics and several days rest. [but this time she had TTO with her]. Mary takes her little vial of melaleuca alternifolia essential oil. unscrews the cap, and puts the pad of her little finger on the opening. She turns the flask over to get a small amount of oil on her finger, and wipes the excess on the edge of the bottle opening. (A trace is sufficient, and Mary remembers that the calculation made by Dr. Penoel, using Avogrado’s number, shows that just a trace of this magic substance contains about 4,000 million billion molecules of terpineol-4. That’s 4,000,000,000,000,000,000 molecules!) Mary collects some saliva on her tongue and then applies the pad of her little finger to the upper surface of the tongue. The trace of EO mixes with her saliva and, after about 10 seconds, Mary moves the saliva to the back of her throat, where her tonsils are bathed by the oil and its infection-fighting strength. Then she swallows everything, for she also read that the real origin of a throat infection is often inside the intestinal flora.

This entire process has taken less than 20 seconds and is not even noticed by her co-workers. Within seconds, Mary is pleasantly surprised to feel a noticeable relief from this first application. this discomfort inner throat is slightly anesthetized, but not in the same way those pills from the drugstore (which contain contact anesthetics) do it. Mary knows that this treatment is really helping her whole body. Dr. Penoel explained that the secret to success lies in frequent repetition of this simple application, at very close intervals at first, but spacing them according to the relief felt.

Every minute for ten minutes, Mary applies the trace on her tongue. Additionally, Mary applies a few drops externally: one drop along each lateral surface of the neck, behind the ear, below the corners of the lower jaws. After these 10 internal applications and the two externalapplications-all done in less than 15 minutes-Mary is really feeling confident about what she is doing, because she feels an action that is both powerful and mild, and she senses her energy level rising.”

Flu

“I got the flu and used Thieves in capsules (10+ drops + olive oil every 3-4 hours) and also used RC on my chest, sinuses and inside my nose for congestion. While everyone at church was still sick for 2-3 weeks, I got over mine in about a week. Hope this helps, C.”
