I recently had shingles and used Thieves oil mixed 50/50 with V-6. It worked great! I had relief within 10 minutes. I never had any more pain with them after I used the Thieves one time and never had to take any of the pills or creams that are prescribed for shingles. By the time I went to the doctor to make sure that was what I had, they were already drying up.

Lavander and Oregano
Last year I came down with shingles and initially I used lavender to
cool down the “flame”. But it was oregano that helped the most!
Internally and externally.

Ravensara, Melaleuca and Lavender

The main thing new we did was to apply essential
oils directly to the Shingles. The main EO we used was Ravensara, but I
also remember using some Melaleuca and Lavender. The Shingles
were completely gone in about a week.

Oregano, Chamomile, Lavender, Bergamot, Geranium, Regenolone

About two months ago, I had severe pain in my lower left side for 2
days. Although the pain subsided, it left a numb feeling in my
side. I rarely visit the doctor, but had no idea what was going on
so I did. Much to my surprise, I was diagnosed of having early
stages of Shingles. I had one small rash about the size of a
quarter. I immediately mixed the #2 recipe in the EODR for Shingles
and begin to apply twice a day (10 drops R. Chamomile, 5 drops
lavender, 4 drops bergamot, and 2 drops geranium in V6 oil) the
itching was minimum and the following rashes were about a tenth the
size of the first one. I had about 5-6 spots in all. I read that
some people used Oregano, so when I ran out of #2 recipe, I tried
it. WOW did it burn, had to follow up with V6. Several days later
(from the dr. visit) the itching subsided and the rashes became sore
(similar to a bruise.) I started applying Regenolone a couple of
times a day. A week from the time that I was diagnosed; I had no
itching and no pain only the sores. I continued to use the
Regenolone for about another week to help heal the sores.

Shingles can be a very uncomfortable condition. Shingles is considered the result of a virus. Recently a number of “essential oilers” reported a number of different solutions for shingles. This is not surprising since it is very common for a person to need to experiment with the essential oils and essential oil products that work best for them

Considering the number of suggestions, the comments from contributors are published in two parts. This is Part 1

Suggested Help For Shingles

The Essential Oil of Melissa

I had used Melissa before and had success with shingles. When
I had another round of shingles, I put 1 drop in my mouth every
minute for 10 minutes, then 1 drop every 10 minutes for an hour,
then 1 drop an hour for the rest of the day. My shingles went away
for over 2 weeks. They are now bothering me again, so I’m going
to do that for more than one day and see if it doesn’t wipe them
out for good.

I’ve found Melissa to work faster than any other oil
for shingles. Melissa is a little more costly than some oils, but
you’d only use around 30 drops a day, so a bottle should take
care of any case of shingles.

Essential Oil of Geranium Protocal

The misery may also be shortened by a topical application of geranium
oil. In a study published in The American Journal of Medicine, researchers
divided 30 adults suffering PHN (post-herpetic neuralgia) into four
groups. One group received topical treatments of geranium oil, while
two groups received a mix of geranium oil and mineral oil (at ratios
of 1 to 1 and 1 to 10), and a fourth group received only mineral oil.

All of the subjects who received any amount of geranium oil reported
pain reduction, and those who received treatments containing 100
percent geranium oil experienced the greatest pain relief. The
placebo group reported little or no relief. Some subjects experienced
a slight irritation from the geranium oil, but these irritations
subsided within an hour or so.

Washing the area first with a non-chemical soap,
then applying some DMSO before the geranium oil should cause it to
absorb deeper into the area (though there’s a garlicky taste to put
up with for awhile).”

Conventional treatment for shingles is limited to anti-viral
medications that sometimes take days to work, and often don’t work at
all. FYI: A case of shingles may last less than 10 days, but it’s the post-
herpetic neuralgia (PHN) that can hang on and cause considerable pain
for long periods.

“1 have often has people ask me what drinking 3 to 4 oz a day of Ningxia
Red has done for me, and that was a difficult thing for me to answer –
being a high energy person with no cholesterol problems or major health
issues or concerns. I am taking it for the easily assimilated vitamins
and nutrients, to stay healthy and to do something wonderful for myself
in the long run.

I have friends who have had wonderful results from
taking Ningxia Red, proven in blood tests, but personally I had no
proof … until this week! I went in for my eye test. The doctor
